Campus Recognition
UCLA's Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life recognizes the following councils and fraternities and sororities. If an organization is not listed, that organization is not recognized by UCLA. All chapters must be recognized by a council.

As the six governing councils grow, they remain true to the original purpose to unify and organize groups that seek to promote diversity and cohesion on campus and in the community. In an effort to realize this purpose, our office, the councils and its member organizations will work together to grow and sustain the current organizations. IFC is currently closed for application submissions and will look to reopen during the 2027-2028 academic year.
Closure due to violations of the Student Group Conduct Code:
Kappa Sigma: Suspension through May 1, 2030 due to violations of the Student Group Conduct Code
Closures in good standing:
Beta Delta Alpha: Chapter closure in Spring 2025 due to membership size

At UCLA, we have 6 councils that represent an extremely diverse and wide-ranging areas of identity including cultural, religious and academic affiliations. You can find more information by contacting each Council President.
Our fraternities and sororities welcome students from all backgrounds in accordance with UC’s Nondiscrimination Policy, however organizations are gender-specific.
